Am I Falling Down on the Job?

Integrity, or lack thereof, is the one thing guaranteed to keep me awake at night.

There are times when what I have to say must be heard. There are times when I just want another person to know that I know they are not being truthful. There are times I want to take my stand, have my say and to h*** with the consequences. There are times when I choose to take this on. There are times when I do not. Is it wisdom that guides me when I choose to save it for another day?

Or am I falling down on the job?

This is a difficult one. I believe that the truth is always the best but that sometimes you have to time making your thoughts known. I have met a few people who are truth monsters who say it and see it every time, this on the whole is fine, but can occasionally come across as harsh. I guess at the end of the day it's all down to your personal judgement.

Yes, this is difficult, but when someone in a group delicately and diplomatically straightens the record on a mistatement or downright untruth that has been uttered in the conversation, I am so impressed. It's the bullies that ram something down someone's throat that show that being right is not everything. It's almost like the smug pris who corrects someone pronunciation in a group.
